Millers & Makers

Bringing a brand to life for a couple invested in quality and sustainable baking practices.

Objective:

Create a brand expression for a new bakery business in Brooklyn, NY. Millers & Makers is owned by power couple Josh and Jess Pickens, who in 2019 combined forces to open their first joint venture—a bakery that focuses on wedding cakes, responsibly and freshly milled flours from the surrounding regions, and other decadent baked goods like sweet potato cinnamon rolls and rye chocolate chip cookies.

My Role:

Design Lead

Collaborating with the Pickens’, we were able to create a brand that is made up of two equal halves, flexible to almost any container, and speaks to the milling aspect of their brand. Seeing this brand system come to life in Brooklyn and across multiple assets makes us proud of the flexible and scalable, yet simple and modern design system we arrived on.
